Mud Pie Recipe. Freeze your Mud Pie until ready to serve at least two hours. Remove the pie approximately 15 minutes before serving. Think of all the possibilities- pumpkin and chocolate pecan and chocolate peppermint ice cream with a candy and Oreo topping. Press into the bottom and up the sides of a 9 pie pan.
Do you need a quick and easy dessert. Serve the pie chilled. Cool completely then place in the freezer. Remove the ice cream from the freezer approximately 45 minutes before making the pie to soften. In fact this my birthday cake of choice when I was a little girl since I was not a big fan of cake even this gourmet chocolate cake with a cake mix. Remove to a wire rack.
Preheat oven to 350.
Make chocolate pudding according to package directions. Invert the ice cream onto the crust and work the ice cream out of the bowl. I know my mom loved that I chose this birthday dessert too since it would only take 10 minutes from start to finish. In a large bowl beat flour pecans and butter until blended. Classic Mud Pie is the perfect treat to celebrate the upcoming fallholiday season. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the pie and dust with additional cocoa powder.
